Melville has a room set aside for science and each class visits weekly for a one hour lesson with the specialist teacher. It is well resourced and students cover the curriculum by engaging in hands on science activities. Year 6 students complete their final semester of science in the Science labs at Melville Senior High School to utilise more expensive equipment and to fine tune their skills.
Our school engages in some important and related issues:
- Waterwise recognised school
- Actively recycle our paper and cardboard, used batteries and all toner cartridges
- Have adopted an area of bushland alongside the school grounds for rejuvenation
- Support Perth Zoo by sponsoring an animal each year and having a fodder garden onsite
