The parent community take an avid interest in the school and their children’s education as evidenced by strong support for school and class activities and membership of various committees including the P&C and School Board.
Melville Primary School has an outcomes focused approach towards education that reflects the intent of the Western Australian Curriculum and Classrooms First Framework. This is an inclusive developmental framework that describes what students should know, understand and apply as a result of the programs they undertake from Kindergarten to Year 6.
The dedicated and professional staff which consists of 1 Principal, 2 Associate Principals, 40 teachers (4 x Level 3 Teachers) and 26 support staff provide academically balanced programs which develop the whole child. They are committed to professional learning to enhance their teaching repertoire which adds value to the learning outcomes of the students.
